![]() Charity BallThe first Charity Ball for children was held in 1903 and proceeds ($737.78) went to fund Maria Love’s Fitch Crèche (a day care facility for the children of poor working women).
The Ball has grown over the years and has become one of the most anticipated events of the holiday season. Currently, the Charity Ball is held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in downtown Buffalo, New York, and features a middle school dance for students in grades 5-8 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and a high school dance for students in grades 9-12 from 9:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Local DJs provide the dance music and light refreshments are served. Boys are required to wear a coat and tie. Formal dress is recommended for girls. The chaperoned event is well-supervised and parents are invited to wait in the Parent Hospitality Room, with complimentary refreshments, while waiting to pick up the children from the middle school dance. This year’s Charity Ball will be held on Friday, December 03, 2010 at the Buffalo Convention Center. The Charity Ball is open to all students in grades 5-12; and tickets must be purchased in advance. We strongly encourage students and their families to remember that the purpose of the Charity Ball is to raise money for the less-fortunate. Please see Rules & Conditions. To receive an invitation to the Charity Ball, phone the Charity Ball Hot Line at 716.635.3333. Please leave your name, address, school and grade for our mailing list. CHARITY BALL INFORMATION WHAT:
